Saturday Savings Shopping List -- Wal-Mart

FIRST UPDATE: So FRUSTRATED!! I really don't like how coupon inserts are so regional. Hello, Birmingham is not that far away; why aren't we getting the same coupons they are? I have to remove several items from my great shopping list because there is no coupon. grr. Well, my total estimated spending goes down; my pile of cheap-or-free-stuff is going WAY down.
^^^
SECOND UPDATE: Anything in blue represents what I found when I tried to print my coupons. I've also added to my list since I cut so many things out before. Those additions are in blue, as well.
^^^
THIRD UPDATE: My shopping trip is done! I'll post a regular post-shopping report a little later, but I wanted to add here (all in green) the successes or failures I had.
^^^
Trying to spend just $10 at Wal-Mart today. Here's the game plan for what I hope to get:
***
Sctotch Travel Size Lint Rollers
Retail: 97c
Coupon: $1 from 1/24 SS
Total: Free!
Buy 3
Looked in the travel section, the home section near the ironing boards and such, and the laundry detergent aisle and did not find this item. I found full-size Scotch lint rollers, but no travel size. I'll look at another Wal-Mart and perhaps at Target.
***
Coffee Mate Original Sticks (7ct)
Retail: 98c
Coupon: $1 printable
Total: Free!
Buy 1
Got the vanilla flavor priced at $1.18.
***
Knox Gelatin — $1.32
Coupon: $4 from 1/24 RP (exp 3/9)
Total: Free! (plus potential overage!)
Buy 3
(I don't know if I'll ever use this product, but if I can get over $2 in overage on each product/coupon combination, I'll buy a ton!)
I'm looking at adding over $6 to my shopping budget because of this coupon!
Cost just $1.28 at my Wal-Mart! I wish I had 100 of these!
***
Klondike ChocoTaco Single
Retail: $1
Coupon: $1 printable
Total: Free!
(I already printed and used this coupon once, so I don't know if I can do it again. I'm going to try, though!)
Buy 1 (I've lost almost 20 pounds; I don't DARE buy more than one!)
Wouldn't print.
***
Contadina Tomato Paste
Retail: 48c
Total: 23c ea
Yay, got this one!
Got 3 8 oz. cans!
***
McCormick Taco Seasoning
Retail: 50c
Coupon: 25c/2 from 1/24 RP (exp 2/28)
Total: 25c ea
Buy 2
NOPE, didn't get this one.
***
Kotex Lightdays Pantiliners
Retail: $1.00
Coupon: $1.50/2 from 1/10 SS (exp 3/7)
Total: 25c ea
Buy 2
NOPE, didn't get this one. It's a shame, too, because this is one of those items that I should always buy at this price. It's unfortunate, but it's one of those things we girls always need to buy.
***
Dannon Light and Fit Yogurt
Retail: 50c ea
Total: 33c ea
Buy 6
(I like these for breakfast now that I'm dieting. I hope to get that Knox product previously mentioned, so I can get these. If I am sticking to a budget of $10, than this $1.96 for yogurt is a CHUNK of that money. I don't know if I'm willing to spend almost 20% of my spending cash on yogurt. BUT, if I get that overage on Knox, it's like getting the yogurt for free.)
Couldn't find this printable.
***
Birds Eye Steamfresh Vegetables 10-12 oz
Retail: 88c
Coupon: 50c from 1/10 SS (exp 2/7)
Total: 38c
Buy 4
My coupon is only for $.35 off. I'm still going to get 4.
$1.25 at my Wal-Mart, but I still got 4 for free, thanks to the Knox coupon overage!
***
Stayfree Maxi Pads
Retail: $2
Coupon: B1G1 from 1/3 RP (exp 3/31) and $1 printable
Total: 50c ea
Buy 2
NOPE, didn't get this one.
Using the printable makes this item just $1. Maybe I'll still get one.
Couldn't seem to find the printable either. Not getting these today. Have a little stockpile, anyway. I'll wait until I can get them at a price like this.
***
Hamburger Helper
Retail: $1
Coupon: 75c/3 from 1/3 SS (exp 2/27)
Total: 75c ea
Buy 3
Got 3 great flavors.
***
I'm up to $8.50, plus tax, after coupons (not counting the $6 overage from Knox).
***
Sea Pak Shrimp Poppers
Retal: $1.64
Coupon: $1 from 12/13 SS
Total: $.67
Buy 1
(I hope I have this coupon and that our store has similar prices. My husband will love these!)
I'm such a dummy. I didn't buy the paper back in December. I feel like I've been couponing forever and that the coupons are taking over my house, but really I've only been at it for just about a month now.
***
I think that's where I need to end my shopping list. I'm up to $9.17, plus tax, after coupons (except Knox overage). If I can get the Knox overage, my total will be closer to $3 for all this stuff!
My total is much less now. I'll have to see if I can get all the printables and do one more update to this post, letting you know what I'm getting and how much I should be spending. There'll be a follow-up post with a picture and a dose of the reality that is my shopping trip.
^^^
I added the following items to help get me back up to $10. If I get the Knox overage, I NEED these items in order to get to the point where I pay anything at all, since my total now is less than $5.00!
^^^
Taco Bell Thick and Chunky Salsa 16 oz
Retail: $1.54
Coupon: $1 from February All You, p. 97 (exp 4/30)
Total: 54c ea
Buy 2

Nah, still too expensive for me.
***

Total: $4.00

An important note: I've made my grocery list from Kristin's $1 or less Wal-Mart list on her great blog couponingtodisney.com. She's in Birmingham, AL, and our stores here in Pensacola, FL, tend to be a little higher on prices. I've often found items just a little more here than there. I don't think I've ever found an item for less than what she states on her list. So, if I ever have to move, I'm thinking Birmingham -- their Publixes double coupons, too. Think of all the money we could save! Anyway, the point of this whole paragraph was to say that I might come home having spent a little more -- by a couple bucks maybe -- than I was hoping. Stay tuned!
