thecouponclippers!
I can't say enough about how great the ladies at thecouponclippers are. My orders have always been wonderfully accurate, and I've always received them as promptly as possible.
This site is especially great for those smart shoppers who don't get a paper with coupons on Sundays. I also really appreciate thecouponclippers when I don't get a coupon I was hoping for in my inserts.
What are you waiting for? Click the banner on the right and get some coupons. It's almost time to shop!
My Faves, 2/28 -- Walgreens
I have ordered coupons from thecouponclippers.com and studied my friend Heather's blog, www.mysweetsavings.com so I'm all set for this week's specials. Or, I will be when I get my coupons in the mail on Thursday!

Swagbucks!
I'm working toward a payout from Paypal, and I'm about halfway there!
All I do is make sure I do my internet searching on swagbucks.com instead of google or bing or any other search engine. I get the same results, and I sometimes win swagbucks in the process.
Go here ASAP to sign up for your account -- you'll get 30 swagbucks to start you off just for signing up!
I think everybody needs to click that link above and sign up. Since you're going to search the net anyway, might as well get rewarded for it!
So far this year, I've gotten 2 $5 gift e-cards for Amazon.com. I used them to buy our Disney guide books and paid less than half of what I would have at Barnes and Noble. Talani has gotten 1 $5 Amazon gift e-card, and we did use that for our guide books, too.
There's nothing to lose -- joining swagbucks.com won't cost you a thing. Give it a try!

Join Swagbucks!
Swagbucks is a great website. You win Swagbucks randomly when you search the net. You get the same results when you Swag-search that you would get from google or whatever else.
Accumulate enough Swagbucks and redeem for great prizes. So far this year, I have gotten $15 in Amazon.com gift cards that I used to buy my Disney guide books!
You'll get at least 30 Swagbucks just for signing up, then anywhere from 10 to 100 for searching. (You won't win Swagbucks every time you search, but if you do a lot of searching you can win several times per day.) I just won 50 a few minutes ago for searching "hulu".
What are you waiting for? Get over there now!
Saturday Savings, 2/20 -- Publix
Used 3 $1.50 Q.
Paid: $.66 for all 4!

Used 5 $4 Q

4 Creamy Chicken ramen -- I think they were around $.87.
All this stuff for $7.65!
I saved over $63!
This trip was almost a week ago, and a long week at that. I don't remember the prices of everything, and I'm too lazy to get up to find the receipts in my purse. (They are all neatly organized, but so far away. I just got back this evening from a conference for work. I'm worn out.)
I do remember that the pizzas were 10 for $10.
I did have some trouble with getting the Knox coupon that I love so much to be accepted. The manager did confirm that it was okay for the cashier to accept it.
Like the architecture? My hubby got really got into it. He's so cute. Speaking of cute, my babies are the cutest! I love that we all have been smart shopping together, even though it is sometimes frustrating to find the deals with the kiddos in tow.
Stockpile Status, 2/26 -- Pantry
My amazing pantry!
A major overhaul is in my immediate future.
It's time to take everything out that isn't food and find somewhere else for those things.
Then I need to take out all the food and rearrange it in an orderly fashion.
On the floor are my bins of bulk items: rice and flour. I also have a box of random items: small appliances, storage containers, etc.
The lowest shelf is for my sister's stuff, so I'll leave that one alone.
The rest of the shelves are mine, and those are the ones I need to do the most work with (duh. obviously.).
Not pictured are the stacks in the laundry room of diet Mt. Dew and Special K shakes.
And to think that most of this disorganized bounty has been stockpiled in just under 2 months!

You could always lessen this out of pocket cost without affecting your extra care bucks by eliminating the following items: Simply Asia, Renuzit, and Mom's Best. This would only take about $2.50 off you're total out of pocket. You could also pick your favorite deals and only buy those. Having $20 ECB for next week is FANTASTIC, though, so you may not want to eliminate anything. You would be getting all great deals, after all.
Something to try at CVS: Scan your Extra Care card at the price scanner found in the store. See what coupons print out. I have regularly gotten $5 off $25, and Talani got a $5 off $15 yesterday.
All together, that's $129 worth of products for around $77 (a 40% discount), with rewards of $46.
If you want to give it a shot, we can put together the coupons tomorrow and hit the stores!
Saturday Savings, 2/20 -- Target
I recently posted about my favorite picks for Target. See how I did:
1. Assorted clearance clothing for the kids:
denim skirt -- $7.98
2 shirts -- $3.50 each
swim trunks -- $3.98 (Why are swim trunks already on clearance? Could these be leftovers from last year?)
1 2-piece outfit -- $4.00
1 pr. khaki pants -- $3.00
Paid: around $26
2. 4 4-packs Special K protein shakes -- $5.04 each
Used 2 $1/2 Q from thecouponclippers.com
Paid: $18.16
3. Excedrin Back and Body -- $2.51
Used $2 printable
Paid: $.51
4. Dove 4-pack of soap with a bonus tiny body wash -- $3.99
Used $1.75 printable and $1 Target printable Q's.
Paid: $1.24
5. 2 Gillette body washes -- $3 each
Used 2 $2 Q from 2/7 P&G
Paid: $1 each!
Used $3 off purchase coupon we received last week when a transaction went horribly wrong.
Total before coupons: around $60
Total after coupons: around $48
Not a huge success, I guess. The kids' clothes are for summer vacation (We always save their new season wardrobe for vacation, so these things are for summer/fall.) Dianna, especially, is needing more things. She has almost nothing for the summer. Maybe I should try consignment shopping or Mom-to-Mom sales. I haven't progressed that far in my smart shopping endeavors, but maybe it's time. $18 was spent on Special K, and I think that's about as cheap as I'll ever be able to find them -- $4.54 per 4-pack. I have almost enough of these shakes now to last me through the rest of the school year.
So, after the clothes and shakes, we only spent about $3 on the rest of the stuff. In spite of the big number on the receipt, I'm pleased with this trip.

I didn't get everything I planned, because they were out of stock of some things.
Next trip:
I want to buy 3 more Venus razors (because I have 3 more coupons). I want to buy a Gillette Fusion razor, because I have a $4 from the most recent P&G, plus the texted $2 Q I received today from Target. With those 4 razors, I'll get 2 $5 gift cards!

What I've learned so far about Walgreens
1. You may not have more coupons than items. Learned this the hard way. When you have 11 items, you may not have 12 or more coupons.
2. Walgreens considers Register Rewards to be coupons. So remember to keep track of them when you are counting coupons. Look for coupons or sales where you use one coupon to buy several items. One example of this is the Valentine pencils I have bought recently for my class. There was an in-ad coupon making these 5 for $1. So one coupon for 5 items. I could have used up to 4 other coupons or RR coupons and still would have been okay.
3. You can't use RR to purchase the same RR generating item. This is best explained in contrast with CVS. Recently, I purchased some boxes of Soy Joy bars from CVS. The boxes were $6 each and generated $6 ECB, rendering the bars free. I purchased one box, received the ECB, then turned around and bought another box with those ECB. That purchase generated another $6 ECB. I kept up this cycle until I had reached the limit of the offer, which was $6. So, I spent $6 initially, and then just used ECB for the remainder of the deal. At Walgreens, you might currently purchase Joint Juice for $10. You'd receive $10 RR. You could not use that $10 to buy more Joint Juice. To keep the money saving chain going, you'd have to use those $10 RR to purchase something else that generates RR. You could THEN use that RR to purchase more Joint Juice, thereby keeping the cycle going.
4. There is no limit on the RR deals you can do in a week. CVS has the Extra Care card which you must have in order to land the best deals and which tracks how many of each deal you've gotten in the week. Once you reach the limit of the offer, you will no longer get the special price or the ECB's that are offered. Walgreens doesn't have a card. You are limited to a certain number of RR offers per transaction (example: You can only get $10 RR for Joint Juice once in a transaction.). But you could make the deal happen every day if you wanted.
5. You should hand over the manufacturer's coupons before the in-ad coupon to avoid having the register computer beep to indicate a problem with the coupon. For example, this week (2/14 - 2/20):
Use $0.75/1 coupon from the 2/7SS
Final cost FREE + overage!
**Hand over the manufacturer's Q before the in-ad Q.**

I tried to get 5 Dayquil/Nyquil on sale for $4.49, with coupons for $2 off each. With a purchase of $20 of product, I could have gotten $10 RR. The computer wouldn't accept the coupon for whatever reason -- even though the coupon read "any product". The cashier didn't seem too eager to make it work, so I just asked her to void out the Nyquil/Dayquil. She voided 5, but she must have rung up a 6th on accident. The total she gave me was $10.93. I knew that was wrong -- it should have more like $6 something, but after going around with her a little, I finally paid her just so I could get the receipt and look at it myself. I found her error and had to wait for a manager to come give me a refund. After all was said and done, my total for the second transaction was $6.44.
I had intended to use some of my RR to pay for this, but with the confusion I felt, I forgot all about them.
Total paid at Walgreens today: $8.50 for a $41.87 value!
I now have $5.50 in RR.
Snow Day shopping, 2/12 -- CVS
I've never had a snow day before!
Still haven't, I guess, since it has not snowed even a little.
We had some freezing rain yesterday, little balls of ice not at all big enough to be hail, but that's it.
*****
So, today, I hit CVS and Walgreens all alone. My sister watched the kids for me so I could spend a few hours on my own. It really was quite wonderful. I wish I could get out alone more. I was able to find the deals so quickly!

A Couple of GREAT Target Deals
***
Deal #1:
Get a $5 gift card when you buy 5 select Quaker Oatmeal products.
One of the products is the Brown Sugar Oatmeal Easy Express bowls.
They are on sale for $1.02.
Buy 5 and pay $5.10.
Get a $5 gift card!
Try going here to print a $1/1 coupon, making this not simply a great deal, but a money maker!
You can print 2 coupons on each computer, so the more computers you can access, the better. If you can print 5, you can make this a $.10 out of pocket expense that nets you a $5 gift card. Use 5 more coupons; buy 5 more; pay $.10 from your first gc, and get another $5 gc!
You could just keep going and going!
***
Deal #2:
Get a $5 gift card when you buy 2 Venus Embrace razors - $6.99 each on sale.
Do this:
Buy 2 Venus Embrace razors -- $6.99
Buy 2 Olay Body Washes -- $5.49 each
Use 2 $2 coupons on Venus from the 2/7 P&G
Use 2 Get Olay Free wyb Venus coupons from 2/7 P&G
Pay $10, get a $5 gc!
***
I've heard that the Olay Total Effects body wash also generates a $5 gift card, even though this isn't advertised anywhere on the shelf. You have to buy 3. So you should triple the above deal, buying 6 of each. You'd get 3 $5 gc for the razors and 2 $5 for the bodywash. That would make this deal a total oop of around $35 after taxes, and get you $25 back in gift cards!
***
I tried the buy 6 deal. The body wash I picked up was Olay Quench, not Olay Total Effects, and it didn't generate the gift cards (although I did get 3 for the razors). I'm taking that body wash back tomorrow and trying again with the Total Effects. I hope, too, that going to a different Target will allow me to find the Quaker oatmeal -- it was out of stock at the one we tried tonight.
